1970

Databac Ltd is established, its name deriving from 'Data Badges And Cards', providing laminated ID cards, instant photo ID systems and punched-hole hollerith cards.

1976

HR Hart Security Printers is acquired for printing paper and plastics.

1984

Databac partners with US card manufacturer Graphic Laminating. Datacode Systems UK is formed to make barcode and magnetic stripe cards.

1986

Databac is licensed by Sensor Engineering Inc (now HID) to manufacture and supply Wiegand cards and readers.

1991

Launch of Databac's Dataimage photo ID system.

1992

Databac is licensed by Thorn Secure Science to manufacture cards incorporating Watermark Magnetics.

1995

Databac achieves ISO 9002 certification. 'Investors in People' management training system is implemented.
TOUGH card, a polyester card for direct card printing, is launched.

1996

New production equipment is purchased for automated tape laying and registration.

1997

Dataimage is optimised for Windows 95 / NT.

1998

Databac, Datacode Systems UK and HR Hart Printers together become the Databac Group. The Group invests heavily in equipment for improved automated card production and RF tag manufacture.

2001

Southern European sales office is opened in Barcelona, Spain. DuraCard 100, a new family of platen-pressed polyester cards for direct card printing, is launched at the IFSEC 2001 exhibition in Birmingham, UK.
HID appoints Databac as European business partner.

2002

Databac launches 32-bit version of its Dataimage photo ID system, now incorporating biometric functionality.
TSSI appoints Databac as official distributor of Verid+ biometric readers.

2003

Databac is appointed official distributor of Datacard's low-cost, professional card printer, the SP35.
