The Databac Group, specialist provider of identification solutions, has signed an agreement with Datacard Group to distribute its stylish new SP35 card printer. By adding the SP35 to its card printer range, Databac will be able to offer a low-volume desktop card printing solution at an extremely competitive price. Databac will market the printer to new and existing customers, including both channel partners and end users, throughout Europe.
Featuring an elegant design with a very small footprint, the SP35 produces sharp, vivid photos, graphics and text on the entire surface of the card. It can personalise up to 120 full-colour cards per hour, while its dedicated new ribbon has a capacity of 500 one-colour prints, for longer uninterrupted print runs. The printer is very easy to use, with message prompts, image previews and documentation available on-screen in a Windows environment.
Dan Hirsch, Datacard senior product manager for desktop printers, said: "Databac is in a unique position to distribute our SP35 printer. It has been in the ID business for over 33 years and offers the technical and product expertise which perfectly complements our card printer range. We look forward to working with them."
Databac managing director Charles Balcomb said: "Our distribution agreement with Datacard allows us to offer an extremely cost-effective desktop printing solution for small- to medium-sized companies. The SP35 is an outstanding desktop printer for low-volume runs of corporate ID, loyalty, membership, hotel room and visitor cards. As a card manufacturer, we are also able to incorporate one or more reading technologies into the cards, allowing them to be used with automated systems like access control and visitor registration."
The SP35 features field-upgradable magnetic stripe and smart card encoding options, as well as standard barcode capabilities.
Databac's technicians have been fully trained by Datacard specifically to service and support the SP35. Their in-depth knowledge and expertise in the card market mean that Databac offers unrivalled service levels and exceptional after-sales support.
The SP35 is compatible with Databac's Dataimage 32-bit photo ID software to provide a complete, professional yet affordable card personalisation station. In addition, Databac manufactures a range of polyester and PVC cards optimised for direct-to-card printers. A range of consumables and card accessories is also available from Databac, including ribbons, printer cleaning kits, lanyards, yoyos and card holders.
