Prima 3

Description

Get high print quality with the Prima 3, a reverse-transfer ID card printer for fast high-volume card personalisation. Prima is ideal for producing high-quality, durable cards. The quality of the finished card is similar to that achieved by off-set litho printing, but with the advantage that every card can be different.

Reverse transfer printing

Traditional direct-to-card printers apply the dyes from the YMCK film directly to the card, followed by a clear layer of acrylic. With reverse transfer printing, the ID card images are transferred from the YMCK dye film onto a clear film instead, which is then laminated entirely onto the card, with the image underneath. This is ideal for contactless (proximity) or contact chip cards, where card surfaces can be uneven due to antennas and chips in the card.

High-volume printing

The Tango +L laminates single-sided or double-sided cards as standard, for extra card durability and security.

High-volume printing

Prima 3 offers duplex printing for convenient one-stop issuance of double-sided cards, and for batch printing applications. For high volume printing, the card supply drawer holds 300 cards and is re-loadable during printer operation. The ribbon and re-transfer film have a large capacity of 1,000 prints.

Prima 3 features a graphical driver with auto ribbon detection, auto-cleaning prompts, and consumables status updates. Other features include batch printing with up to seven printers (Prima High Output version), USB 2.0 and Ethernet as standard and a wide range of laminating and encoding options.
