Overlaminate ribbons

These thermal transfer ribbons add a clear layer onto the card after printing. These are thin (around 0.25mil) medium-security, medium-durability overlaminates and available clear or with a custom hologram.

PET overlaminate patches

These protect printed cards from abrasion and fading, increasing their lifespan to 50,000 swipes in a reader. Applied by a printer lamination station or dedicated machine. Choose from Datacard's DuraGard, Fargo's PolyGuard, Zebra TrueSecure and Magicard Ultrashield.

Custom hot-stamp holograms

Databac's 2D/3D holograms, Kinegrams and Holoseals (Pseudo hologram) enhance security of cards or sensitive documents. These state-of-the-art devices combine covert and overt features and can be custom designed. An optional transparent background keeps the underlying information visible.

Advantage OVD

Tamper-proof optical variable device. Crystalline coating appears transparent when viewed directly but changes from green to orange depending on the viewing angle. The pattern can be custom designed and registered for the client's use only. Supplied as patch, printer ribbon or manufactured onto the card surface.

Preprinting options

To prevent copying, we can pre-print your card during manufacture with bank-note style security backgrounds. We can also apply UV inks (invisible without a UV light source), colour-changing inks (colour changes when heated) and transferable inks (ink is released during tampering).

Security lamination plates

We can deploy high-quality lamination plates with 3D security features to enable the inclusion of forge-proof devices into the surface of the card such as engraved patterns, lenses, microlettering and Braille.

Integral card watermark

Databac can manufacture cards with an integral 'watermark' image pre-printed within the card structure. Visible within the card when held up to the light, the pattern can be custom-designed featuring logos, text and/or graphics.

Ultra-violet print ribbons

Databac can offer UV dye ribbons for use with card printers. More economical than custom holographic laminates, these allow you to print 256-scale gradient static or variable images and data directly onto cards. Various UV colours available.

Signature panels

Signature panels can be incorporated in our cards. To make them more secure, these can printed with security microtext in visible and UV inks.

Security seals

We offer security seals which incorporate a holographic background in which we etch the image and text into the surface. These seals can be very intricate patterns with microtext and offer a cost-effective anti-copy method.
