Multifunction cards

Description

Databac cards can be designed to incorporate multiple reading technologies, allowing a single card to be used in a variety of applications, such as access control, time and attendance and cashless vending. For example, combining barcode with proximity technology on one badge allows it to be read by a barcode reader for hourly wage tracking and a proximity reader for access control.

Selection criteria

The selection of technologies to incorporate in a badge involves several factors: encoding security, ease of use, durability, reader resistance to environmental hazards and vandalism and cost. Each technology has certain strengths and, when combined with another, provides a well-rounded, multiple-read badge.
